Slimes are an enemy in Redungeon.


Appearance[]

Slimes are green, with a suggestion of a ghostly face, or at least eyes, based on it's darker spots. Whenever it moves, it leaves a trail of slime that extends outwards.

Behaviour and Strategy[]

Slimes only move up, down, left, and right, unlike Bats and Bone Snakes which are not limited by a grid. They are generally the slowest enemy, and are fairly simple to avoid in a vacuum. In most setups, slimes pause or slow down when turning - allowing the player to sneak around them in their paused time. Slimes have fairly simple movement patterns most of the time and are generally only complicated by their environments instead of their patterns of movement. Slimes' slow speed and predictability make them the easiest enemy to avoid or counter.

When the player comes into contact with a slime with protection, the slime will grow rapidly to engulf the player character before shrinking again. It will spit out Sir Gylbard's sword and shield, Nathaniel's monocle, Ichitaka's mask, random rocks from Rik, Vesna's flower, Bragg's hat and gun, the orb on Aether's staff, random bones from Ribb, and random scrap off Panic Bot.

Slimes can be killed by all abilities usually capable of killing enemies, although due to their tendency to appear in groups Creep A. Crow excels at dealing with them. Bragg's pistol can pierce through an infinite amount of slimes, making his attacks somewhat effective but risky - his pistol shot can shoot through slimes and break important items, potentially dooming the player entirely.
